Kalaloch South Beach Campground, Olympic National Park
This 50 site campground in Olympic National Park is as close to the beach as you can camp without getting wet. Located just three miles south of Kalaloch Lodge the campground is fairly rustic but each site has a picnic table and fire ring plus there is a bathroom and trash receptacle. This is a first come, first served campground so plan on arriving early as it will fill up during the summer. We arrived around mid-day on a Saturday and were able to grab one of the last three sites. There is a pay station next to the bathrooms. The view is amazing, the long beach stretches over four miles. We walked on the beach all the way to the Lodge where we bought a snack before heading back – it was a wonderful day! Hint: This campground is closer to the beach and cheaper than the larger Kalaloch Campground just north of the Lodge. There is a dump station available at the Kalaloch Campground. Caution: No hook-ups. The road to the campground is short but steep. South Beach Campground is only open during the summer.
