Pop’s Place
This unassuming place not far from the entrance to Goose Island State Park reminded me of the taverns in Wisconsin. Cold beer in a bottle, tasty food in a basket and local characters hanging out at the bar, a great way to spend an evening and all at a great price too. Try the fish special, it comes fresh out of the water everyday. It was our first time trying Red Fish (aka Red Drum) and it was delicious. Talk about thoughtful, the beer bottles are served in a koozie to keep your hands dry since the humidity is so high there. Fun!
