You’ll need a car and a good set of directions to find this place. The drive takes you through the rolling hill country south of Austin and it is beautiful. While clean and well-designed, there is nothing fancy about the place, so roll up your sleeves and feel free to use your fingers. There will be a wait for a table, thankfully they usually have live music in the courtyard to keep you occupied. If you like to swig a beer with your BBQ then you’ll have to bring it with you, the Salt Lick can’t serve alcohol since it is in a dry county.
