Big Spring State Park
This park did not live up to its name as the spring is not in the park. In fact we found very little water in the park. We were also a bit disappointed by the empty prairie dog town. Though the area is still fenced to protect them and the brochure touted their existence the little dogs were long gone. While still a neat park for a picnic or even just to enjoy the view far across the valley below, we would not want to camp here (no electric hook-ups, no showers). Perhaps the only Texas state park we have visited that we were dissatisfied with.
