Drinkeries

The Creamery Brewpub and Grill

Klamath Basin Brewing Co brews some yummy beers in the historic Crater Lake Creamery building downtown. Our visit was less fun than it could have been and we’d been looking forward to it, too. The staff was friendly but disorganized and service was a bit slow. The food menu looked interesting and was certainly diverse with some amazingly high-priced items but my advice? Stick to the beer. We savored our beers but were extremely disappointed with our appetizers. So drop by, grab a beer and enjoy their wonderful patio, or their huge fireplace on cold days, but eat somewhere else. Hint: I hear they have a good happy hour.

Roosts

Oregon 8 Motel and RV Park

Located just north of town this small motel and RV park have seen better days. Not that we are complaining, we felt it was a good location for a reasonable price. The rec room with pool table, laundry, and bathhouse were clean. There was a free local paper daily, a small pool near the office, each site had a small lawn, and a picnic table. The pull-thru sites were a bit close together and some of the RVs were longer stays and quite run down. We stayed an extra week so that we could explore Crater Lake National Park and all the National Wildlife Refuges in the area. The motel rooms looked welcoming from the outside. Hint: They offer coffee and donuts every morning in the office. You can also use your receipt for a 10% discount at two of the nearby restaurants.
