Olivesburg General Store

A little bit of everything is available at this store that first opened in 1840. From hand-made Amish goods to candy to sandwiches. They also carry a nice selection of jams and preserves. They scoop some of the best (and biggest) ice cream cones around. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

Grandpa’s Cheese Barn & Village

Right off the Interstate Grandpa’s Cheese Barn offers a little bit of everything. The lower floor of the big, red barn is dedicated to the gift shop, cafe, and ice cream shop while upstairs is the meat and cheese shop. We spent quite a bit of time upstairs, working our way through all the samples. There is more than meat and cheese up there, they also have a wide selection of preserves and homemade chocolates. Then we wandered downstairs for lunch in the cafe and yes, we finished it off with a bit of ice cream. After that we all felt like a nap and could’ve checked into one of the two suites that Grandpa’s rents. Grandpa’s is well worth pulling off the road for and with such easy access you’ll be back on the road with your treats in no time!
