Adventures

North Carolina Art Museum

Our friends took us to the museum to see “Temples and Tombs: Treasures of Egyptian Art from The British Museum” which was a fascinating exhibit. There was plenty to see at the museum without the special exhibition, including the grounds which span 164 acres. If touring museums makes you hungry, the museum has an excellent remedy; Blue Ridge, the Museum Restaurant. This is not your typical grab-n-go cafe that you see at many museums, instead the restaurant offers artistic combinations that were truly delicious. Many of our fellow diners were at the museum just for the food! Caution: If you want to see it all you’ll need a whole day.

Roosts

College Park RV

This park is attached to a RV sales and service center and is a bit of an after thought. What once was a nicely laid out park has suffered from years of neglect but we were more interested in the location than the amenities. Unfortunately the Raleigh area has very few choices when it comes to campgrounds or RV parks.

Miscellany

Flythe Cyclery

A small mishap sent us in search of a good bike repair shop in the Raleigh area and we found one in Flythe Cyclery. Their staff were helpful and we had our bikes back in shape in less time than promised. The store also carries every imaginable bike accessory (shiny, new bikes too) and they have plenty of information on biking in the region. If you ride in the Raleigh area you have access to a wonderful resource, lucky you.
