Salmon Ruins Museum
This county run park protects and interprets a Chacoan great house as well as the homes that came much later to the land. Pronounced sal-mon, not sa-mon like the fish, the park offers a nice introduction to the Ancestral Puebloan culture. The gift shop is full of Native-made treasures and some of them are surprisingly affordable. Allow a couple hours to explore the grounds, the museum and the gift shop.
