Cape Cod National Seashore
The protected area winds along the shore of heavily populated Cape Cod for 40 miles encompassing beaches, marshes and dunes. Start off at one of the two Visitor Centers to get the schedule of events and interpretive programs, also watch one of the movies about the area. We arrived after the VC had closed but there were plenty of brochures available at the kiosk. Our favorite spots were Nauset Beach and Marconi Beach. There were very few people at Marconi Beach. Caution: Everyone travels to the Cape for the weekend so expect traffic to come to a standstill from Friday afternoon through mid-afternoon on Saturday. Traffic will be just as bad on Sunday afternoon as people return to the mainland—plan accordingly.
