Longfellow National Historic Site
The house was not only the home of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow but the residence of General George Washington during the Siege of Boston. Located a short walk from Harvard Square tours are offered of the house several times a day, during the summer season. Well off the beaten path, exploring the house and the gardens offers a brief respite from the crowded streets of Boston. The neighborhood is worth exploring since it is full of grand, old houses. Check the website for special events and tour times. Caution: Tours are not offered on Mondays or Tuesdays.
