Hot Springs National Park
Although there are some hiking trails this park is not really about finding solitude in nature, instead the focus is on the history of the “American Spa”. Stop in at the elegant Fordyce Bathhouse which serves as the park’s Visitor Center and museum. Oh, and none of the places where the hot water wells up from the ground are accessible though there are places where you can fill water bottles (for free) or soak in the steamy water (for a fee). If you are thirsty and don’t like drinking hot water try Happy Hollow spring north of Bathhouse Row. Hike up Hot Springs Mountain for a great view of the area.
