Coronado National Memorial
This overlooked National Memorial lies along the US/Mexico border south of Sierra Vista. Perhaps this wedge of land dedicated to the 1540 entrance of Francisco Vazquez de Coronado into Arizona seems too “history bookish” and boring, if you have even heard of it. We assure you that this is not the case, and urge you to visit. There are hiking trails and the Coronado Cave to explore, and an informative visitor center to learn about the history and significance of Coronado and his expedition.
