Erin’s Prickly Pear Margarita

Ingredients

  • 1 12oz can frozen limeade
  • Tequila (don’t buy the cheap stuff, get a middle of the road white or blanco)
  • Prickly pear syrup (sweetened)
  • Lime wedges for garnish
  • Ice

Make the limeade with 1 less can of water than normal. In a martini shaker: add ice cubes, 3 oz limeade, 2 oz Tequila, 1 oz prickly pear juice. Shake well. Rub the rim of the margarita glass with a lime wedge, dip the damp rim of the glass into a thin layer of coarse salt. Pour shaker into salt-rimmed margarita glasses, garnish with a lime wedge, and serve immediately.

Note: I do not use Triple Sec. Feel free to add Grand Marnier or Cointreau if you would like.
