March 2009 Travel Challenge Revealed
Kudos to Debbie who worked out the answer to the question we get asked most often about our travels, “What’s the most surprising place you’ve visited?”
Texas!
Really, truly we were prepared to hate Texas but instead we ended up liking the place. Oh, not all of it, the area up by Midland-Odessa leaves a lot to be desired, but the Gulf Coast, Hill Country, Prairies and Lakes and even Pineywoods regions all have their charms. Far and away our favorite section was the Gulf Coast—chock full of wildlife, fascinating history, and inviting small towns. Less crowded and less expensive, yet just as interesting, in our book it beats any stretch of California coast.
Debbie correctly found the answer to all but one of the clues. The yellow critter we had in mind from Olympic National Park was a Banana Slug. Regardless, Debbie got the “s” she needed to figure out the final question.
Thanks for playing!
