Damp Water

Filed under: From the Road & Humor by Erin on 3/1/2009

Thought we’d start March off with a bit of humor…

While visiting our good friends (and fellow RVers) Rich and Karen a few weeks back, they showed us this box which came with a wind up flashlight they recently purchased. The actual flashlight is pretty nifty, especially since you don’t ever have to worry about changing the batteries in it. However, we found the instructions printed on the box far more interesting than their new toy:

“Is a kind of small articles with convenient schlep and storage.” I’m sorry but what translation dictionary did they use? And how in the world did they ever find a Yiddish word? Apparently they didn’t realize that “schlep” means to carry clumsily or slowly.

“Do not use the machine in the place with water or operate the machine with damp water…” Wow—does that mean that dry water exists?

What is “From the Road?” It's where we share a tidbit—be it a quote, a photo, or some other oddity—that we encountered during our travels. Enjoy!
