Mystery Photo, December 2007
This month for the Mystery Photo we are offering you another “count ‘em” challenge. You need to count the animals as well as identify the type of animal. Good luck!
How to play: Find and count the animals, then place your guess in the comment area below. Please be as specific as possible. The photos used in “Mystery Photo” are not doctored; they are the glorious combination of two things, my lack of ability as a photographer and the subjects’ stubborn refusal to be photographed.
The results: We will not post comments until next Saturday, December 22nd, 2007. That gives everyone a chance to guess. That day we will post your guesses in the order they were received.
[UPDATE Thank you for all the great guesses and congratulations to Debi and Alison for being the closest to the correct answer. See the followup photo and story.]

Looks like 4 or more birds on a tree
One military macaw in a tree?
8 birds, 7 are greenish and 1 is yellow they look like parrots
I am guessing they are yellow-headed blackbirds – about six of them. Karen
Alright, this is definitely a late entry and someone has probably nailed it by now but my guess is 8 Green Parakeets (Aratinga holochlora). Green Parakeets are also known as Green Conures.
Merry Xmas!
Alison
