Filed under: RV & Travel by Erin on 10/30/2007

My Ohio

Filed under: RV & Travel by Erin on 10/27/2007

Ohio has many claims to fame, but to me Ohio means family: my mom’s whole side of the family is from there. We visited family many times through the years and Ohio will always be the place where I had many adventures (and misadventures) with my extended family.

Erin and I had a beautiful day to explore the Niagara Falls area. It was a hot, sunny day in late summer, so the mist felt good on our faces. It was like a natural air conditioner—as soon as you left the edge of the falls, you were hot again.

Though [...]

Buffalo and Niagara Falls

Filed under: History & RV & Travel by Erin on 10/10/2007

We were in the Buffalo area to visit one of Lance’s many homelands; he lived here with his family in the mid–1980s while his father was attending SUNY. Amazingly, many of the things Lance remembered have stayed the same: his old house, his school, the pond where he used to play. Of course a great [...]

Road Wise: Bay Gulls

Filed under: Humor & Road Wise by Erin on 10/1/2007

“There’s no such thing as seagulls. Only bay gulls.”

Spoken by George our volunteer bird tour guide at Padre Island National Seashore. It took us half the day to figure out what he meant! Say it out loud, you’ll get it.
