Mount Desert Island History

Filed under: History by Lance on 8/18/2007

Erin put together the story of one of the most celebrated isles along the Atlantic Coast, Mount Desert Island.

As we travel, and I compile information for my writing, the connections never cease to amaze me. I know where I am going geographically—in this case Mount Desert Island—but I never know where my research will take me. With this island, I kept ending up in France.

Thanks! This one brought back a lot of memories. Of camping with my parents in Acadia National Park. And my almost 50-year-old father deciding that he’d up and climb Cadillac Mountain. (He did it!)

We also visited Bar Harbor, but found it way too overpriced and snooty. So, we held onto our money and entertained each other with “Bah Hahbah” jokes.

Wow, Martha, you really have been all over the place. Glad you enjoyed Acadia. We loved it (as you’ll soon see)! Thanks for the comments!
