As of January 4th, 2007, fautrever.com is an official member of the 9rules blog network. Woohoo! We submitted during the first few minutes of the network’s Round 5 twenty-four hour window of submissions back in October.

For those of you not familiar with 9rules, it is ”...a community of the best weblogs in the world on a variety of topics” which are split into topic-based Communities (read the 9rules about page). You’ll note that we are listed in the Travel Community under “Travel Adventures”... that title is the shortened version of our site’s tagline “Travel Adventures with Erin and Lance Willett.” Go check out the network, there are many, many great web sites already in the network (including Molly and Nathan).

I think the amount of sites that submitted to Round 5 was higher than anyone expected (1190 total sites), and so we all had to wait for two excruciating months as the crack 9rules team (Tyme, Scrivs, and Mike) went through all the sites and made their decisions. To top off the anxiety for Erin and me, they went through the sites in backwards order—so our early submission meant we were on the bottom of the long list of submitted sites.

At some point in November, I consciously made an effort to stop worrying about getting in, and tried to let go and hope for the best. Needless to say, the announcement of our Travel Adventures web site making 9rules on December 29th was a surprise, since we had sort of given up hope towards the end. Woohoo again!

We are very proud to be included in the 9rules community and happy to have our stories and pictures exposed to a broader audience. Here’s to a great year in 2007 for all the 9rulers, and a special thanks to you our readers for sticking with us.
