Sea Life Aplenty in Port Aransas

Filed under: RV & Travel by Erin on 1/29/2007

Our two weeks in Port Aransas were marred by the coldest and wettest winter storm in a century in Texas. Even though it was miserable for us it was worse in other parts of Texas, Austin (the capital) shut down because of all the snow, ice and hazardous conditions. At least we didn’t have snow! [...]

New Year’s Along the Gulf

Filed under: RV & Travel by Erin on 1/23/2007

Since we have plenty of time to explore the Gulf Coast of Texas we didn’t move very far. We decided to stay in Rockport about eleven miles from our previous location at Goose Island State Park. Rockport is nestled up against another small town, Fulton. Both are hard-working towns that rely on the bounty of [...]

It started in 2004 when we left the day after Christmas for Kino Bay, Mexico. The temperatures were mild, the water cool and the beaches empty, in other words—perfect. In 2005 we were [...]

We Met Ben Franklin in Houston

Filed under: History & Travel by Erin on 1/4/2007

We were in Houston because we had scheduled an appointment for our RV to receive some much needed attention. We decided to stay in the Northwest section of Houston, not far from our RV repair shop. We found a rather inexpensive room at Crestwood Suites that had a small kitchen and accepted cats. It certainly [...]
