Cranes Talking, Geese Flying

Filed under: RV & Travel & Video by Lance on 12/7/2006

Two video clips from our visit to Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge are here for your enjoyment.

During daylight, hundreds of sandhill cranes crowd the fields in the refuge to eat, dance, and talk loudly. We stood and watched for a long time—they were very entertaining!

The next morning we got up really early (yes, before the sun came up!) and attended the morning “fly-out” where the birds leave the safety of the marshes to go out and feed in the fields. The noise of the wings and birdtalk was astounding. Plus, the sunrise was beautiful.
