Road to Discovery
We are off! You might ask, “Where are you going?” Our lives have taken new directions. More specifically, a northern direction this summer, and a southern-bound one this winter. Our goal: live and work in our RV and become some of the youngest Snowbirds1 on the road.
Our new home is a 1989 Tioga “Arrow” class C recreational vehicle. She is 21 feet long, and rides on top of a Ford E-350 engine and chassis. Our dream of living in an RV has finally become reality!
These next few weeks are going to be spent in California, learning the ropes of full-time RVing while working and playing. After that, we plan to travel to the Pacific Northwest.
We will be busy during our travels. Erin is working on lots of projects: photography, writing, proof reading, remodeling our RV en-route, and much more.
I am still running my web design business. Earlier this year I invested in a mobile satellite internet system, and it has already paid for itself. It gives me flexibility and mobility; I can work from almost anywhere. Keeping in touch with clients and colleagues is key, and having my own satellite system helps me do that.
We are planning a blog redesign here on fautrever.com with lots of RV pictures and notes from the road. Bailey and Rookie, our two cats, are even going to put their two meows in. Stay tuned!
[UPDATE! View more pictures of our RV in San Diego County campgrounds.]
1 “Snowbirds” refers to visitors who travel to warm, southern climates from cold, northern ones in winter. See Wikipedia.org article on Snowbirds for more on this interesting group. ↩

holy smokes—awesome looking design!
Jenny and I both are living vicariously through this blog and your flickr photos. Beautiful stuff. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks AJ! We are enjoying the RV lifestyle so far, though there are always kinks to work out.
Erin gets all the credit for the photos, as usual. She always takes the most photos of the two of us…
She has even taken over loading them to Flickr and doing the titles and captions, which is cool.
