New Looks, New Lifestyle
In response to changes in our lives, changes to this site are in order. New looks for a new lifestyle.
I took advantage of this to improve some behind-the-scenes items as well. Improvements to the site include a contact form powered by Wufoo, a travel theme geared towards our RV life, and better readability.
During the course of changing the site’s look and feel I felt the need to get rid of the “random” images that appeared in the header. Now, we are going to show a map of our current location instead. Hopefully that will help folks get a feel for where we are in the country or world.
Another change involved removing the full copyright statement in favor of a Creative Commons license. I’d made the change on our Flickr photos back in March, and decided to match that spirit here on the web site.
Information sharing and distribution is an important part of the web, and we want to participate! That should really be Web with a capital letter, since I am talking about the Semantic Web that Tim Berners-Lee envisioned.
For the web design geeks: the site now uses the XHTML 1.0 Strict DOCTYPE (it was 1.0 Transitional for a few years prior). I also attempted to make the site work in IE/Win without the need for CSS hacks. There is an IE-only style sheet which overrides certain styles that come with WordPress plugins used as part of the site installation; it also solves the issue of a transparent PNG used in the header logo.
Enjoy the new face of “Lance and Erin’s Travel Adventures”, and let me know if anything is weird or broken.

I love the changes to your site and will be watching it as you two enjoy your new lifestyle and adventures! Good luck and stop by to say “Hi” when you guys come back down south.
