Spring Training Game
I was lucky enough to have a day off this week! It’s a rare occasion this month as I am neck-deep in web projects and planning summer travel with Erin. Not to mention setting up for our next stage in life, which is living in an RV full-time; more on that later.
Last Friday we headed down to sunny Tucson to catch a game of baseball. It was the last game of Spring Training for the Colorado Rockies. They were hosting the Milwaukee Brewers at Hi Corbett Field in Reid Park, which is a great place to hang out if you ever have a chance.
The weather was perfect, the game went back and forth, and there were several great plays. Probably my favorite was the Brewers’ short and pudgy first-baseman hustling on a line drive to the left-center gap to stretch out a triple! He really made it a close play, though the throw was high from the cut-off man. There was a home run in the late innings to help seal a Rockies win, but the triple was much more spectacular and the crowd loved it.
Our nephew Andrew made a splash with the crowd in his baseball suit (matching top and bottoms), ballcap, and sporty sunglasses. I got a rare chance to talk with my Dad (Tom) as we took in the game. My mom (Libby) held Andrew, though she ended up sitting back at the top of our section so that she could use an umbrella to help shade the baby. Jed and Heidi took turns hangin’ up there with her. Erin and I had a great time, and enjoyed catching up with family.
I posted some photos to remember the event, check ‘em out!
