Bridal Wreath Falls Hike

Filed under: Images & Outdoor Adventures by Lance on 3/2/2005

Erin and I love the Gem Show time of the year in Tucson (mid-February) because we get a visit from a good friend from Oceanside, CA: Brendan.

This year we had one day together, so we decided to hike in the Rincons even though it had been pouring all day and the night before. We had a great hike in the rain up Douglas Springs trail (starts at the end of Speedway). We couldn’t even park at the actual trailhead because the road was so flooded! It was the most water I had ever seen in the Tanque Verde wash, and it promised to be quite a sight at the Bridal Wreath Falls.

The falls are about 3 miles up the trail, and that was our destination for lunch and the turn-around point on the day. The rain came and went, the sun popped out a couple times, and lots of plants and flowers were in picture-perfect mode!

See the pictures from our Douglas Springs, Bridal Wreath Falls hike.
