Agua Caliente Canyon

Erin and I are thoroughly enjoying the winter rainy season here in Tucson. Just in the past few weeks we have revisited some lovely trails and canyons in the Rincons and Catalinas (Tucson-area mountain ranges) and their foothills.
The big difference during this time is the abundance of water—sometimes making it almost impossible to follow well-known routes. The trade-off to the wet shoes and slippery rocks is a transformed landscape of cascades and falls, rivulets and streams.
One such trip took us up beautiful Agua Caliente Canyon, past the “Painted Rock” and into two tough 4th class climbs past waterfalls.
